Joe said he would only serve two terms when he took office, well, he's been in Congress for 7 terms. It's time for Joe to retire, so we're going to help him.Your contribution will go to whoever the Democratic nominee is for the 2008 Congressional cycle and will help to fund a successful campaign to put a Democrat in Joe's seat. The Democratic Campaign Committee has already targeted Joe Knollenberg and your contribution will convince them to support the nominee for this seat.We will be holding retirement parties across the district. Look for parties in your area and contribute generously.Make your generous contribution here:http://www.actblue.com/page/retirejoeknollenberg

Our goal is to raise $100,000 by April of '08

This post is an outright lie. Congressman Knollenberg never said he'd only serve two terms when he first ran for Congress. I challenge you to show written documentation of this claim. This may be the blogosphere. But you will have no credibility if you spread lies and falsehoods to make your political points. It's okay to play tough. But play honest and fair.

Knollenberg is a liar anyway you want to look at it.

Let's start with the Contract for America that Knollenberg signed onto in 1994. That contained a provision for a "citizen legislature" which the Republicans defined as 6 terms for Members of the House. http://www.house.gov/house/Contract/termlimd.txt

Knollenberg signed onto that "Contract". (See H10253, Sept. 29, 1994)

Now Knollenberg is in breach of that "Contract" because he has run 8 times.

Right there Knollenberg is a liar.

Knollenberg is the outright liar.

When Knollenberg signed onto the Contract with America he signed onto a limit of 6 terms. Knollenberg did not keep his word.
