Here is the real reason that Congressman Joe Knollenberg voted NO on the ethics reform bill that passed the house last month -- he likes to take lobbyist paid vacations.
The AP reported that between 2002 and 2005, Joe Knollenberg took three lobbyist funded trips worth nearly $12,000.
That doesn't include the weeklong trip to Hawaii he took last January.
The reason Joe Knollenberg voted NO on ethics reforms is because he wants more free trips from lobbyists like Jack Abramoff.

And again your only defense comes down to "but other people did it too."
The activities of other do not absolve Knollenberg of his wrongdoing.
It was wrong for Knollenberg to take luxury vacations paid for by trade groups and lobbyists like Jack Abramoff.
Your statements about other Members taking trips have no bearing on what Knollenberg has done.
You can talk about what others did all you want. It isn't material.
If it was material, then being fair, I'm sure you meant to mention that the other members all voted YES on the ethics reform.
So, what others have done has nothing to do with Knollenberg's wrongdoing.
* Knollenberg voted NO on ethics reform.
* Knollenberg accepted luxury vacations and trips from lobbyists like Jack Abramoff.
* Knollenberg voted NO last month on ethics reforms that would have prohibited him from accepting such trips.
Therefore, Knollenberg wants to continue to take all expense paid (by lobbyists) luxury vacations.
I say, if he can't afford his own vacation on his $160,000+ per year income, then either he shouldn't go on such vacations or he should get a different job.
