We Said It Here First -- Knollenberg Will Continue to Support the Iraq War in September

Remember, we told you so.

Don't wait for September thinking that George Bush or Joe Knollenberg will finally realize they have been entirely incompetent in their handling of Iraq and that they have put US troops in the crossfire of a civil war.

No. We already know what is going to happen in September.

Officials told ABC's Martha Raddatz that the senior commanders in Iraq -- Lt. Gen. Ray Odierno and Gen. David Petraeus -- want the surge to continue until at least December and expect to report enough progress by September to justify the extension.

It won't matter what the "conditions on the ground" are in September, Bush has already decided that they will report that the escalation has been a success and that they need to continue it.

Then, just before the election in November 2008, they will announce that they are going to draw down troops. They will claim that they have been so successful that they can withdraw troops so the level will be ~130,000.

They just hope you don't realize that ~130,000 is about the number of troops we had there before the troop surge. So, by the end of 2008, we will be where we were in the beginning of 2007. Except it will be 23 months later and there will be 1000's more dead Americans.

Joe Knollenberg is a rubber stamp for George Bush. Knollenberg does whatever Bush tells him to do. That of course will be his downfall in the next election. By supporting whatever Bush wants in terms of funds and troops, Knollenberg shares the blame for the utter failure in Iraq and for the death of American troops.

If you happen to have the misfortune of seeing Joe Knollenberg, don't shake his hand, it is just as bloody as George Bush's.

Joe Knollenberg will continue to show patience for President Bush and follow him down the rathole to hell, where they both deserve to go after being responsible for the murder of our troops in Iraq.

May all the Republicans that supported the lie face elimination in the elections of 2008.

Be the change.
